Fire tending is the art and science of maintaining a fire, whether for cooking, heating, or ceremonial purposes. Fire tenders must have a deep understanding of the properties of different types of wood, a connection to the directions and elements, how to properly stack and light fires, and how to be in service to the Spirit of Fire and those who walk.
In our time together we will create a connection to Spirit, create a relationship to Fire, and begin the process of reigniting our inner flame. This is not a walking fire, this is about building a relationship with it, it is about honoring, and giving thanks. This will be a time of sitting with the fire, a time of learning, exploration, stories, and ritual.
Fire tending has a long and rich history in many cultures and continues to be an important skill for spiritual practitioners. Fire is transformational! When it is out of balance it can show up as chaotic and disconnected energy; when it is in balance it shows up as stability and connectedness. Are you ready? Come, let’s fire tend.
